Hello! ¡Hola! Bonjour! Ciao! Jambo! Hallo! 

Your JOTA-JOTI Passport to International Spirit will open up a world of International Scouting activities! As you participate in JOTA-JOTI (Jamboree on the Air-Jamboree on the Internet) and work on earning your International Spirit Award you’ll experience cultural connections and make new friends with Scouts around the world!

This year’s JOTA-JOTI 2026 theme is A Peaceful and Inclusive World so bring your friends and family to enjoy a global celebration of Scouting!

We are grateful that ThunderCloud Subs will be providing box lunches for our participants! Thank you ThunderCloud!

Registration Fee for all participants is $5.00 which includes your Passport, lunch, a special Capitol Area JOTA-JOTI 2026 Patch and access to the Midway, Zooms and JOTA-JOTI.

Registration Fee for Merit Badge Courses is an additional $10.00. One class per participant please.

What you can expect for your Passport to International Spirit

All levels of Scouting are eligible to earn the International Spirit Award and many activities will be offered to meet the award requirements. Exhibits will also include activities for meeting the Scouting for Clean Waterways award. More detailed descriptions are provided in the JOTA-JOTI 2026 Passport to International Spirit Guidebook. Other activities are tailored to each level of Scouting as follows:

Cub Scout Participant. Cub Scout Programming will include specific activities for Cub Scouts based on the JOTI Cub Scout Activity Guide. Older Scout Ambassadors will assist Cubs as they explore these fun activities. Many of our Midway Exhibits will also support Cub Scouts Adventures and will be identified accordingly.

Scouts BSA Participant. Scouts BSA Participants can register for the following Merit Badge Courses which are described in the JOTA-JOTI 2026 Passport to International Spirit Guidebook. Cost is $10. Once Merit Badge per participant please.

Adult Scout Participant. Adults can also earn their International Spirit Award.

Friend or Family Participant. Friends and family are welcome to join the fun! The JOTA-JOTI PASSPORT TO INTERNATIONAL SPIRIT will allow friends and family to experience the world of International Scouting along with their Scout companion first hand!  Cost is: $5.

• Explore the JOTA-JOTI website, This interactive website allows you to virtually meet Scouts around the world, share your responses to challenges in real time, make contact through a directory of Scouts abroad, play games and more! Register at: jotajoti.info
• Zoom from the Fickett Center with Scouts in several countries! (Tentatively: Mexico, Kenya, Thailand, Japan, India, Poland, Switzerland)
• Communicate by Ham Radio – Ham radio operators will reach out to Scouts around the globe! Radio Call Sign is: KA5BSA!
• International Scouting Midway –Scouters, Scouts, friends and family alike can check requirements of the International Spirit Award by visiting over 20 displays about how we are all part of a World Scout Movement!
  • WOSM Earth Tribe. This exhibit meets Cub Scouts Webelos and Arrow of Light Champions of Nature Requirement. More at: https://sdgs.scout.org/initiatives/earth-tribe
  • Scouting for Clean Waterways. Learn about this Scouting America initiative through hands on activities with watershed models. This activity provides support for Cub Scout Champions of Nature activity.  More at: https://www.scouting.org/outdoor-programs/scouting-clean-waterways
  • International Spirit Award - Learn about the International Spirit Award and work on some of the requirements.
  • International Scouter Award – Learn about the International Scouter’s Award and work on some of the requirements.
  • Kenyan Scouting! Meet Kenyan Scout, Maria Wachira, and learn about Kenyan Scouting! Mary was our International Camp Staffer at Lost Pines Scout Camp in 2019!
  • Scouting in Mexico! Chat with Mexican Scouter, Jose Perez about Scouts of Mexico!
  • Messengers of Peace – Learn about the new, expanded Messengers of Peace.
  • World Friendship Fund – Learn about the World Friendship Fund!
  • International Peace Light – Learn about the International Peace Light
  • Friendship Knot – Learn how to tie the friendship neckerchief knot, then share it with your friends!
  • Interpreter Strip. Fluent in another language? Make arrangements to get tested on your knowledge to earn your Interpreter Strip.
  • World Scout Jamboree 2031. The next World Scout Jamboree after next summer will be held in Denmark!
  • Scouting Uniforms Around the World. The Capitol Area Council’s collection of international Scouting uniforms will be on display
  •  And much more!
• World Scout Jamboree 2027. Scouts, Leaders and Service Team participants in the next WSJ which will be held in Poland will have a “meet and greet” around the campfire at lunch!

JOTA-JOTI will continue around the world online through Sunday, October 18th. Scouts are encouraged to visit the website at their leisure to enjoy more activities, collect virtual badges and print out their participation certificate.
