Scouts may sign up for up to three STEM classes and enjoy “STEM in Action” activities on Saturday evening including climbing, flight simulator, and star party.
Classes are selected via the online registration system and include merit badges and COSMIC awards. After registering, scouts may change classes online or at event check-in as long as the class has space.
Adults select classes too - select areas where you would like to help. Training for the COSMIC program (the new council STEM award) will also be offered for adult mentors.
Paperwork checklist
- Every participant: bring a paper copy of your Scouting America Medical form parts A&B.
- Every participant: bring a paper copy proof of your Scouting America registration.
- All adults: bring a paper copy proof of unexpired Safeguarding Youth Training
Guidelines
- Each youth must have a designated responsible adult (Scouting America registered leader) on site. No lone scouts.
- Unit camping is encouraged and must follow Safeguarding Youth policies - two or more leaders and at least one registered female adult if serving a unit with female youth.
- BSA camping rules: All adults staying overnight must have a current Safeguarding Youth Training certificate and must be currently registered as an adult volunteer. Adult volunteers must be registered in the position(s) they are serving in the unit. Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement.
- Everyone on site must CHECK IN when arriving and must CHECK OUT when leaving camp at any time for any reason.
- No vehicles are allowed in campsites. Bring a wagon or backpack to transport your gear from the parking lot.
- Potable water and restroom and shower facilities are available.
- If you need access to electricity overnight for health reasons (CPAP), please contact CAC Staff as soon as possible to make arrangements.
- Campsites will be assigned upon arrival. For troops bringing more than 10 people, please contact CAC Staff as soon as possible to ensure adequate space is reserved.
- CAC reserves the right to rearrange class times to balance head counts. Classes without a minimum number of scouts may be combined or canceled.
- You may sign up as a unit (encouraged) or individually. Each unit shall provide a minimum of 2 adults and meet all BSA guidelines. Please strive for a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 youth.
Don’t forget:
- Water bottle
- Camp chair
- Pen/pencil
- Prepare for the weather: hat, sunscreen, rain gear, etc.
