NRA SHOTGUN INSTRUCTOR COURSE

NOTE: You must have previously taken the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course, which is offered with the NRA Rifle Instructor Course or as a separate course to take the Shotgun Instructor Course.

Age Requirement: 21 and older to be a Certified Shotgun Instructor. 

Limited Exception: Scouts under 21 who plan to work on the shotgun range at Lost Pines during winter or summer camp may attend and be certified as assistant or apprentice instructors, only with the prior approval of Mr. Bryson.

Cost: $80.00

Description: This course is for training and certification of NRA Shotgun Instructors. It includes the NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting and the NRA Shotgun Instructor Training.   All participants must have experience at shooting shotguns.

Class Size: This course is open to the first 20 who register.

• Friday - 1/17/2025 - 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Fickett Center -
• Saturday - 1/18/2025 - 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Fickett Center 
• Friday - 1/25/2025 -6:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Fickett Center 
• Saturday - 1/26/2025- 8:30 am to 1:00 pm –  Shotgun Range and Lindsay Lodge, LPSR

What to Bring: Pen or pencil. Dress casually.  Uniforms are not required. On Saturday 1/19/2025 -  Bring your own cleaning kit and lunch.  The council will supply all shotguns and ammunition. 

NRA Certification Fee: After completing the course, there will be a fee to the NRA for certification.  The fee will be $30-$50 depending on whether or not you are a NRA member.
