Help Scouts Trash the Trash! AND, Win prizes and Earn Awards! 

Scouts around the world will be enlisting friends and family to clean up our planet together on May 3rd! Register now to participate in one of the organized cleanups and enjoy a complimentary lunch from ThunderCloud Subs. Or, arrange your own group clean up by identifying a location, inviting friends and Scouts and showing up. Clean up a waterway and you can be one of the first to earn Scouting America’s NEW Scouting for Clean Waterways Patch!

Compete for PRIZES!!

Create a Logo!! Design a digital logo for Scouts Trash the Trash Day to bring awareness that on this day across the world Scouts will be picking up trash to create a better world! It MUST include “Scouts Trash the Trash” and “Waste Connections.” The winning design will be printed on a reusable tote bag and will receive a $200 Amazon Gift Card. Entries due by April 1st!

Recruit! The Leader with the MOST volunteers will win a Solo Stove! And the Team with the most trash wins a Pizza Party!

Clean Up! On Saturday, May 3rd, put on your Scout shirt, grab a friend or family member and pick up at least 2.2 pounds of trash - that’s about 1/6th of a 13 gallon trash bag. And pat yourself on the back, knowing that you’ve done your good turn for the day!

 

Join an Organized Cleanup!

Step 1: Select from the following locations to clean up on May 3rd.

  • Rosewood Neighborhood Park, 2300 Rosewood Avenue, Austin, TX
  • Old Settlers Park, 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX
  • Veterans Memorial Park, 2525 W. New Hope Drive, Cedar Park, TX
  • San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow Street, Georgetown, TX
  • Organize your own clean up

Step 2: Come up with your Team Name!

Step 3: Register. Each Team should have one “Registration Contact.” Additional team members should be entered as Participants.

Step 4: Show Up!

 

On May 3rd, at 9:00 am gather your Team at the cleanup location you’ve selected. The Program will begin with a presentation on Leave No Trace and certificates will be awarded. The cleanup follows. Trash map locations, trash bags, disposable gloves and some reachers will be provided.

Keep track of the amount of trash collected measured in 13 gallon trash bags.

Cleanups conclude at 11:30 am and pick up your FREE box lunch of Sub Sandwich, Chips and cookie, generously donated by ThunderCloud Subs.

 

Step 5: Report Your Results!

After the event, you will receive an email in order to report your results which will be shared with organizers of Scouts Trash the Trash Day. They will also be used to award prizes!  Scouting for Clean Waterways patch will be available for purchase at the Scout Shop for $3.99.
