Eclipse over the Pines: A STEM and Conservation Weekend

Event Details

This year Conservation Awards and STEM Adventure Weekend are combining to celebrate the 2023 Eclipse at Lost Pines Scout Reservation.  Along with viewing the annular Eclipse (88% zone of totality) during a picnic lunch, Scouts can take up to 3 to 5 merit badge classes during the weekend.

On Friday evening,  choose between a merit badge class or a movie.  The Eclipse is between classes on Saturday.  On Saturday evening, Scouts can choose between a merit badge class or spend time exploring STEM in Action which includes climbing and rappelling on DOK's Tower, an egg drop competition, open radio, a star party, branding, chess, and the fingerprinting merit badge.

The event is limited to 500 participants in total.  Pre-register for the event between May 4th (May the 4th be with you) and July 24th at the Early Bird rate ($100 per youth registrant, $50 per adult registrant).   Classes open July 25th for pre-registered participants.  General registration with full class options opens Aug 1st ($110 per youth registrant and $60 per adult registrant).    Late registration pricing begins Sept 30th ($120 per youth registrant and $70 per adult registrant).   

All registrants will receive Eclipse Glasses, an event patch, and a special edition padfolio.   Event t-shirts can be ordered online starting July 25th.    Leader guide and schedule will be available starting August 1.
