Chisholm Trail's Introduction to Outdoor Leader Training (IOLS)

Event Details

Capitol Area Council Chisholm Trail District invites you to participate in the Scoutmaster Leader-Specific Training “Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills” (IOLS) on Aug 21-22 of 2026

Working as patrols, IOLS presents adult leaders with the practical knowledge needed to help Scouts to learn outdoor skills. The skills presented will closely follow the Scouts BSA Handbook and rank advancement requirements. Skills from Tenderfoot to First Class are covered in this training.

Along with Scoutmaster Specifics (online), this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops to be considered “trained”.

This is a required training course for all Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmasters and the Online Training must be completed prior to taking IOLS.

In addition, anyone who may be attending campouts regularly should consider taking this class. The training is designed to help all adult leaders regardless of experience level feel comfortable performing and supervising these skills with youth.
