What is Wood Badge? 

Wood Badge is an advanced national leadership course offered to adults in Scouting who have completed their basic leadership training.

Who is Wood Badge for?

Wood Badge is for all registered adult leaders: age 18 or older, involved with Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Exploring, District, Council, Territory, or at a National level.

Who may attend this course?

     The course is open to all registered adult leaders.

When is the course?

     Weekend 1 (October 23-25, 2026)
     Weekend 2 (November 7-8, 2026)

    Location: Lost Pines Scout Reservation, Bastrop, TX

Please attend our Participant Orientation Session
     September 26, 2pm-4pm at Frank Fickett Center

What is the cost of the course?

    The fee for the course is $350 but signing up before July 1st will get you a discounted price of $315

Prerequisites:

1. Wood Badge Pre-course Orientation
   Log into My.Scouting and click Scouting U.  Enter Wood Badge into the search field, then click on the Wood Badge Pre-Course Orientation module.
2. Wood Badge Pre-Course Assignment
   Complete before you arrive to the course. Please print and keep this with you during the training.

Paperwork: 

Bring the following completed paperwork to Participant Orientation:

1. Annual Health and Medical Review parts A, B1-2, and C (with approved physician's signature)
2. Proof of current Safeguarding Youth Training through 11/08/26.
3. Proof of Current Scouting America registration
4. Personal Resource Questionnaire  OR in an online form

Note:  Scouting America camping rules: All adults staying overnight must have a current Safeguarding Youth Training certificate and must be registered with Scouting America in an adult fee-required position.
