NRA PISTOL INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Start Date: 08/1-2/2025  Continuing: 08/09/2025

Age Requirement: 21 and older to be a Certified Pistol Instructor.

Cost: $80.00

Important prerequisite: All participants must have already completed the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) and have experience at firing handguns prior to taking this course. 

Description: This course is for training and certification of NRA Pistol Instructors.  This course includes the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting and the NRA Pistol Instructor Training.  

Course Size: This course is open to the first 14 who register. 

Locations: 

Friday08/01/2025- 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Fickett Center
Saturday08/02/2025- 8:30 am to 7:00 pm – Fickett Center
Saturday 08/09/2025- 8:30 am to 7:00 pm – Rifle Range at Lost Pines Scout Reservation

What to Bring: For the second Saturday bring a cleaning kit if you have one. The council will provide all ammunition and handguns. 

NRA Certification Fee: After completing the course, there will be a fee to the NRA for certification.  The fee will be $30-$50 depending on whether or not you are a NRA member.
