Campmaster Program Info, Application, and Training Registration

The Campmaster Program is an excellent way for registered adult scouters to participate in the Camp Don Harrington initiative. We are seeking scouters who want to serve in this program to assist units checking in and out, facilitating any needs to make their stay as best possible, and to act as the council's representative. This can be a family weekend or simply a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city!
An application to be part of this program is required. All applications will be reviewed by a committee including the Campmaster Program Volunteer Coordiantor, one existing Campmaster Corp member, Camp Ranger, and if necessary, the Scout Executive. Scouters selected will be based on several criteria such as prior camping experience with scouts, demonstrated ability to get along with others, be able to take charge in case of an emergency, communicating, enforcing, and past support of council policies and camp rules and procedures, and finally, the ability to listen, understand, and support our campers to the best of your ability.
Training is required to become a Campaster and there are two sessions available to choose from (only one session is required). Once you attend the training, you will have an opportunity to select any weekend we have available for. Please see the attachments for more details about how the program works and the application.
We ask that you completed and submit the application on or before February 18 so it can be reviewed. You may attend the training, however until you are approved, you are not a Campmaster! Only those selected will receive an email of congratulations.
