The annual Golden Spread Council University hosted by WT A&M University in Canyon, Texas offers an opportunity for Scouts BSA members to work on Merit Badges in a great learning atmosphere!  Held in the month of January it is MBU’s intent to create an environment where Scouts have an opportunity to continue their advancement program and earn valuable merit badges that may not be readily available elsewhere. It gives youth the opportunity to earn up to three merit badges in one day, while helping them on their path to earn their Eagle Scout rank and serve our community.

These badges range from Citizenship in the Community to Nuclear Science to Crime Prevention and lots more!  Scouts are offered a diverse set of Merit Badges that will be either partially earned or completed on the day of the event (contingent upon the completion of pre-requisites prior to the event). Scouts will be able to enroll in up to three separate Merit Badge classes of their choice.

Registration for classes are first-come-first-served basis.

The classes are conducted by experts in their field of instruction and most are outside of scouting.
