District Pinewood Derby

When: Tuesday, April 29th, 2025

Time: Check in/ Weigh in time: 6:00pm; Championship Race Begins at 7 PM

Special Event Notes

We had many challenges this year that I’m sure many of you have dealt with getting a track, along with the rising prices of venue rentals within our county. With this being a weekday and evening event, we anticipate there may be some scheduling conflicts with Scouts in sports and other activities. We will allow your pack to send a delegate or assign a delegate at the race to have the award presented. Please register the Scouts by name so they will still be recognized, even if they cannot make it.

Registration Fee: $40.00 per Pack.

Speed Competition Speed - Up to 10 Scouts Per Pack (Winner Per Den and the Overall Top 3)

Scout Participation Requirements

A Uniformed Scout and a parent/guardian may attend the race. 

Each Pinewood Derby car entry must be from the same Scout and car that competed in a Cub Pack Pinewood Derby in the same year as the district race.

Construction Rules: Please observe the 2025 Official Pinewood Derby Rules. Derby cars that do not pass inspection will be disqualified if the issue cannot be corrected at inspection.  The most straightforward summary of the rules is only to use the components in the BSA kit and not purchase Speed Wheels, Axles, or whole care kits from online retailers.
