Spring Wilderness First Aid Training @ Latimer
Latimer Reservation is proud to offer a blended Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training course for Scouts (age 14+) and adults. This training is required for units participating in any of the BSA's national high adventure programs.

OPTION 1: CPR/AED Certification & American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid
CPR/AED is prerequisite for WFA - only need to attend if you don’t already have this certification

This fee includes the WFA course registration, lodging, and meals (Sat breakfast to Sun lunch)
OPTION 2: American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Course

CPR Certification Requirement: WFA certification requires a current, valid CPR certification at the time of the WFA course.
If You Need CPR Certification it will be offered Friday night before the course, or you can register online with the ARC or other organization.
What to Bring and What to Expect: This course is designed to equip you with the first aid skills and leadership abilities necessary to respond to emergencies in wilderness and remote environments, where immediate emergency medical services (EMS) may not be available. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident in your ability to prevent, plan for, and respond to emergencies.

- Registration for the online WFA
- Supplemental materials
- Lodging in climate-controlled cabins Friday & Saturday night
- Meals during your stay
Required Personal Gear:
- Sleeping: Linens for a twin bed or a sleeping bag and a pillow.
- Personal Items: Towel/washcloth, toiletries.
- Wear clothes that can get dirty! You will be taking turns as victims in outdoor scenarios.
- We recommend bringing the supplies you would typically carry on a day hike or backpacking trip (e.g., daypack, tarp, sleeping bag, first aid kit, sunscreen, hat, etc.) to help simulate real emergency scenarios.
- Pen/paper.
- Weather: Be prepared for the weather. We will spend time outside, rain or shine, cold or warm.
- Medical Form: Everyone must submit a BSA medical form upon arrival at camp.
Other information: Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Red Cross certificate for Wilderness and Remote First Aid, valid for 2 years.
Trading Post: The Latimer Trading Post will be open during your stay and will have candy, snacks, drinks, ice cream, and new LATIMER shirts, hoodies, and hats available for purchase. Cash, check, and cards accepted.
