Range and Target Activities is an integral part of the Cub Scout experience. Cub Scouts may ONLY participate in age-appropriate BB Gun and Archery and Sling Shots events at District or Council activities when there is the correct number of properly trained adults (Rangemasters) is present. Anyone 21+ may serve as a Rangemaster.
We MUST have at least 5 to register to offer course (maximum class size is 20)
Registration closes Wednesday, March 25th at 12pm EST, and no walk-ons are accepted
*Rangemaster certifications are good for two years.
Outdoor portion for BB Guns, Archery, and Sling Shots: Hands on experience under the supervision of a certified Rangemaster during one of the GSMC Cub Camp Activities.
Must complete both the Saturday morning and afternoon sessions to receive training card. Note: you must use the STAFF REGISTRATION LINK below to register to serve as staff at one of the events (lunch is included).
NOTE: in order to work with youth during a GSMC Event, everyone MUST have a current Adult Registration AND a current SYT/YPT.

Must bring raingear for the outdoor portion in case of inclement weather
For first time trainees: must give us preferred size of Rangemaster Vest to receive after course is successfully completed. We recommend that you go with a slightly larger size than normal so that your vest can be worn over your outdoor gear during cold weather.
If you have let your Rangemaster Certification lapse, but still have your vest, you can recertify for indoor and outdoor sessions at NO COST. IF THIS IS THE CASE, PLEASE EMAIL JASON COLLINS (SEE HIS EMAIL BELOW) TO RESERVE A SPOT. DO NOT REGISTER THROUGH BLACK PUG SYSTEM.
Make sure you BRING with you a COPY of your Safeguarding Youth Training certificate & Scouting America Medical A&B form.
