Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

February 11-12, 2023

Camp Coker

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) provides the best practice approaches to presenting the Scouts BSA outdoor skill-related, early rank requirements. Along with Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scout Troops, in order to be considered “trained."

The session will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday morning, and end at 11:30 am on Sunday.

The following needs to be packed in or on a backpack: tent or hammock, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, rainwear, flashlight, knife, mess kit, water bottle, extra clothing for sleeping and as necessary to keep warm, personal items. Attire for the weekend is the BSA field uniform.

The course fee is $50.00 and includes materials, meals and Trained Strip.  A confirmation with additional details will be sent out prior to the course weekend.  For safety all participants should check temperature and health before leaving home and not attend if feeling sick.

For more information please contact Larry Green at 843-421-5403, scoutpioneering@gmail.com.

All participants will need to bring their Medical Form (parts A&B)

Deadline to sign-up is February 6 by 5pm.
