Chinquapin District Camporee

Mission Lake Wilderness Camp

545 State Pond Rd, Gaston, SC

This event is currently postponed, no new date has been set.

Your troop is invited to the Chinquapin District Camporee to be held at Mission Lake in Gaston, SC.   Activities include kayaking, hiking, tomahawk, archery, wilderness survival, search and rescue, with fishing and relaxing while camping. Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Department of Natural Resources are going to conduct search and rescue, along with wilderness first aid. Canoeing for Kids will be on site to assist with the Kayak relays around the island on the pond. The activities are being made available on Saturday. Wilderness survival shelter building and spending Saturday night as a merit badge requirement is available. Both of our normal camporee type camping and backpacking to a remote site is available, just need to know before arrival if you want backpacking.  New scouts are welcome, but will be required to have been registered with their scout troop prior to or bring the completed registration upon arrival. 

Cost is $15 per participant, youth or adult
