BALOO Training - Blythewood
BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for Cub Scout leaders is a training event that introduces participants to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. This training is required for any adult who is in charge of planning a pack campout, and it is required that at least one adult per pack complete BALOO training.
Prior to taking the practical component, you must have completed the online component. Both components, the online and the practical, must be completed in order to fulfill the “BALOO Trained” status. The online portion is available through the BSA Learn Center at My.Scouting.org
Please note that this is an all day event. Training will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday and end by 6:00 PM on Saturday. Make sure to dress for the weather as we will be outdoors a good portion of the day and bring a water bottle to help stay hydrated throughout. You will need to bring personal gear such as sleeping bag and toiletry items as you will be staying overnight. Plan on bringing a tent for yourself or coordinate with another leader from your Pack to tent together. Field uniform is prefered dress for the day.
