The Eastern Region Section 7 ACT Conference & Council of Chiefs (COC) Meeting will be held September 29-30, 2023 at Camp Barstow, SC.

The ACT Conference will help lodges Adapt to face major challenges, Collaborate with their peers across the section, and eventually Thrive and become high performing. The leadership theory and pedagogical techniques employed in the course reflect the current best practices in teaching and learning as described in the appropriate literature. There will be brand new content and sessions offered this year that will better meet the needs of our lodges to support a thriving program.

The Section Council of Chiefs Meeting will be held on September 30, 2023, in the Camp Barstow Dining Hall at 2:00 pm. Section Officers, Coordinators, Advisers, and Lodge Key 3 are expected to attend. The COC will meet to plan the 2024 Cornerstone Conclave. If not attending the ACT Conference, please be sure to register separately for the COC Meeting. The Council of Chiefs Meeting, while open to the public, is only required for members of the COC and those directly involved with Conclave planning. Lunch will be provided.

How Much:

• ACT Conference & Council of Chiefs Meeting: $20 (Includes Friday Cracker Barrel, Saturday Breakfast, and Saturday Lunch)
• Council of Chiefs Meeting ONLY: $10 (Includes Saturday Lunch)
• After September 22nd, all new registrations will have a $5 late fee applied.

When to Come:

• Check-in is from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Dining Hall (Map of Camp Barstow)
• Please avoid arriving prior to 5:00 pm as the camp and our staff will not be prepared for Arrowmen before that time.

What to Bring:

• Bring a current, complete, and signed BSA Medical Form (Part A & B – no doctor signature required).
• Class A Uniform & OA Sash, pencil/pen, paper, sleeping bag, pillow, water bottle, flashlight, weather-appropriate clothing, towel, toiletry items, jacket/rain gear. Adirondaks are available, but you are welcome to bring a tent or hammock of your choosing.

• Camp Address: 117 Camp Barstow Dr, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29206.
• Registration closes Sunday, September 24th at Midnight.
• Lodges will be assigned to a campsite that will be available upon check-in.
• All adult (18 and older) participants must have current Youth Protection Training prior to arrival.
