Scout The Trades

Merit Badge College 

January 24 & February 7

Join us for a unique Merit Badge College Experience. 

This two-day (4-session) event will allow Scouts to experience and earn trades-based merit badges. Scouts should plan to attend both days & register for all four sessions. 

Scouts will have the chance to learn from industry professionals about their tradecraft, complete the merit badge, and do so in a hands-on environment. 

Citizenship in Society will be offered at this Merit Badge College. 

Registration is limited to 80 Scouts.

Scouts should select one merit badge per session and plan to attend both days of the College.

Scouting America Medical AB Forms are required.

Scouts should arrive having already eaten breakfast. Lunch will be provided both days. The menu will be sent out a few days prior to the event. If the menu options are unappealing to your taste, please plan accordingly. 

Scouts should wear Unit Class B T-shirts and bring a refillable water bottle. CLOSED-TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED. 

Materials for classes will be provided. 

PLEASE NOTE: Drop off will begin at 7:00 am at Socastee United Methodist Church. Pickup at 4:30 pm for both days. 

Each day will start with a safety briefing that is mandatory for the Scouts to attend in order to participate in the day's events. 

Some events will be outdoors. Please plan accordingly.

Please bring a notebook and a writing utensil.
