WAITING LIST FOR BRC PHILMONT 2025 NOW OPEN

The 48 slots for the 2025 Philmont BRC Expedition are FULL but we are reopening Registration to create a WAITING LIST.  This has two reasons.  First, some on the list now MAY change their plans over the next year and second, we MAY be able to secure a FIFTH crew after October 1 when all crews from all over the nation must pay the next payment.  Space sometimes opens when crews default and lose their reservation. Therefore, we will re-open the registration until October 1 for a WAITING LIST ONLY  We already have 3 more attendees than we accommodate (although we have tentative permission for 13 member crews)  so if we get at least five more participants (8 is minimum crew size), we MIGHT be able to secure a fifth crew. We have plenty of adults so we are encouraging more scouts (14-20) to apply.

Philmont, known as "Scouting's  Paradise", is 137,000 acres – 214 square miles of rugged backcountry in the Sangre de Christo Mountains and also uses adjacent public lands and permitted private properties.  Participants will spend 12 days backpacking, enjoying the beautiful scenery, honing leadership and Scouting life skills and experiencing the exciting programs offered along the way.

Participants MUST BE at least 14 years old OR have completed 8th Grade AND be at least 13 by June 30, 2025.  Thirty-six spaces are available to youth participants as individuals, Troops, or Crews, including co-ed crews. Participants 18-20 must complete YPT and may be counted as youth.  Partial units and solo Scouts are encouraged to sign up. Twelve BSA registered participants Including three YPT up-to-date adult positions (21 or over) are available per crew. 

Note: Deposit of $150/person for the WAITING LIST ONLY  is due by OCTOBER 1, 2024!!!

IF we are not able to secure a fifth crew, the $150 deposit  will be refunded minus any administrative Credit card fees.

Please review the attachment " Philmont Med Form" and carefully read the two-page ADVISORY attached to that medical BEFORE you commit any funds. There are medical issues that may preclude your attendance or issues that you may need to address in order to be compliant with Philmont participation requirements.

Payment Schedule*

$150 Deposit Due 04/1/24  (10/01/24 for Waiting list ONLY)

$800 First Payment Due 8/15/24 (if we get a fifth crew, that crew would have 30 days from the date we get fifth crew to catch up; otherwise, those on the "waiting list" should delay any more payments beyond the $150 until we know for sure)

$800 Second Payment Due 1/15/25

$750 Final Payment Due 5/15/25

(please note that electronic payments do incur a fee; those wishing to avoid this may pay via check to the BRC service center at 1 park plaza Greenville, SC 29607)
