Swamp Rabbit Fall Camporee

Event Details

2026 Liberty Challenge Camporee: A Journey Through American History

Load your wagon. Rally your patrol. Blaze a trail through American history.

Join the Swamp Rabbit District for a weekend of adventure, competition, and Scout spirit at Camp Old Indian. The 2026 Liberty Challenge Camporee takes patrols on a journey through 12 pivotal eras of American history, from the Colonial Era to the Space Age, testing teamwork, skills, and grit at a themed challenge station for each.

Each patrol will design and build a wagon to competition specifications, load it with required gear, and roll from station to station on Saturday competing for the top overall score and the Scout Spirit Award.

The Camporee at a Glance

  • Dates: September 11 to 13, 2026 (check in Friday, 5 to 7 pm)
  • Location: Camp Old Indian
  • Format: Patrol-based competition across 12 themed challenge stations, plus opening fire, campfire and awards, and Scout's Own Service
  • Bring: A patrol-built wagon (specs in the Program Guide) and Scouting America Medical Forms Parts A and B for every participant

Arrow of Light Dens Welcome

Arrow of Light dens are warmly invited to join a Scouts BSA Troop for the Camporee weekend. It's a great chance for AOLs to preview the Scouts BSA experience and build early connections with a Troop ahead of their crossover.

Troops are asked to extend the invitation and coordinate directly with the AOL den's Cub Scout leaders. AOLs may not attend without a coordinating Troop. Each AOL's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must attend the entire event, and Safeguarding Youth guidelines must be followed at all times.

See the Leader's Guide for full participation details.

Before You Register, Read the Guides

Two documents cover everything you need to know for the weekend. Please review both before completing registration.

  • Leader Guide: arrival, health and safety, weather plan, and contacts.
  • Program Guide: wagon specifications, patrol necessities, Saturday rotation schedule, and all 12 challenge stations.
