Scoutmaster Position Specific Training
Event Details
Scoutmaster Position Specific Training is the initial level of training for top leaders in Boy Scout troops. It is designed for Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and junior assistant Scoutmasters. However, committee members and other adults connected to Boy Scout troops are welcome to attend. For a scout leader to be fully trained they must complete Youth Protection Training, Scoutmaster Position Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. After all of these courses are completed the leader in eligible to wear a trained strip on their uniform.
This course covers the Aims and Methods of Scouting, Role of the Scoutmaster, The Patrol Method, The Troop Meeting, Advancement, The Support Team and Annual Planning.
