Leave No Trace Trainer
Leave No Trace Trainer Course is a hands-on course that teaches skills and techniques essential to Leave No Trace minimum impact outdoor ethics and education. The participants will be equipped to demonstrate and teach Leave No Trace principles to their family, friends, and Scout Group. During this course participants will receive classroom as well as outdoor instruction, and need to be physically able to hike up to three miles. Each participant will have to be prepared to teach a 5-10 minute lesson on one of the Leave No Trace Principles during the course.
Who Should Take This Course?
Adult scouters who would like to offer Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops to their Scout Troop or Pack.
Scouts 14 and over, who would like to offer Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops to their Scout Troop.
Scouters who would like to serve as a co-instructor in a Leave No Trace Trainer course.
What to bring:
Class A and B, 2 or 3-man tent, sleeping bag & pad, layered clothes for being outdoors, raingear, 6 essentials, mess kit for eating (meals will be provided), daypack, hiking boots, writing utensil, cat hole trowel, and materials to teach their own 5-minute Leave No Trace Lesson. Participants will need to bring a copy of their medical forms A & B.
