National Gathering of Alumni

The inaugural National Gathering of Alumni is set to take place June 12-18, 2022, at the Philmont Scout Ranch. Sponsored by the BSA Alumni Association (an umbrella organization for many Scouting affiliations and career-based networks), the week-long gathering at the Philmont Training Center is intended to bring Scouting Alumni back to the campfire and to rekindle that Scouting Spirit which lies within everyone who has ever been positively and personally impacted by Scouting. The gathering is designed to help participants build or rebuild their connections to Scouting, foster connections with other Scouting Alumni, and focus on becoming a compelling ambassador for Scouting. The course is not intended to be an academic conference, but rather a social exchange of proven strategies and best practices that participants can take back home to help initiate, expand, or improve the alumni relations efforts in their own council. This dynamic week will be a fun, safe, and family-friendly program. Highlights for participants include networking socials, panel discussions and roundtables, national keynote speakers, and alumni-specific training sessions. In addition, participants will be able to enjoy both onsite and offsite activities and attractions including sunrise hikes to Lover’s Leap, tours of Villa Philmonte and the National Scouting Museum, the Tooth of Time, evening shows and socials, the Kit Carson Museum, the Chase Ranch, Cimarron Canyon State Park, and trips to Taos, New Mexico. There will also be an entirely unscheduled day to allow you to create your own personal adventure. You will not want to miss this inaugural event!

Registration Instructions: 

All guests will register through the Event Management System. A separate email will be sent to you later to select housing. Tent included in registration. Any upgrade in housing is an additional fee. Requests for housing upgrades will be available for consideration in the spring.
