Who – Any adults looking to relive childhood memories, felt the desire to build their Cub Scouts pinewood derby car, or anyone else looking to enjoy some friendly competition!

Must be age 21 or older to register.

What - The adult Pinewood Derby is a fun and competitive event where adults build and race pinewood derby cars similar to the traditional Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts.

Two exciting competitive divisions. Rules are located in the attachments section of this page to the right. 

Classic Circuit – Traditional Pinewood Derby rules.

Unlimited Circuit – Limited rules and restrictions. Allows for maximum creativity and innovation!

* Racers may only enter one car per division

Where – Narragansett Brewery 271 Tockwotton St. Providence, RI

Parking is available surrounding the brewery and on the street.

Food and beverage available for purchase.

When – Thursday June 12, 2025

Check In and Race Time are being finalized.

Cost - $20.00 per racer

Pinewood Derby kit available for purchase for an additional $7.00

Narragansett Council Scout Shop - 579 Greenwich Ave, Warwick, RI 02886 M-F 10 am - 6 pm Sa 10 am -3 pm

Narragansett Brewery - Dates and times TBD

* Must produce proof of registration and purchase of Pinewood Derby kit

Prizes - Prizes will be awarded to the cars that come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division

Superlative Awards will be voted upon by judges or determined by results. Below are some examples.

Most Overengineered - Car the took way too much effort!

Most Fuel Efficient - Slowest car to finish a race

Mad Scientist - Most technically inovative

Barley Street Legal - Most questionable modifications

Best Use of Duct Tape - You get the point!

Participants in the Adult Pintwood Derby race should display good sportsmanship by treating all participants, officials, and spectators with respect, and avoiding negative interactions. Adhere strictly to all rules and guidelines, competing honestly and fairly. Ensure your car is prepared according to division specifications. Above all, have fun and enjoy the experience.
