Open Adventure at Adventure Base Camp

Event Details

WHO - Adventure Base Camp welcomes all ages! Due to safety, some activities are restricted to certain age groups. 

Adventure card holders (In Council Scouts) - This event is free!

Non-Adventure card holder (Out of Council Scouts) - This event is $20 per participant. 

WHAT - Open Adventure is an opportunity for Scouts and their families to come to Adventure Base Camp and participate in the programs we offer at their own pace.

Programs include archery, B.B., no contact sports, nature hikes, scavenger hunts, axe throwing range and STEM projects.

New Cub Scouts can even earn their Bobcat rank at the event!

This event is 100% outdoors and will follow Rhode Island safety guidelines. 

WHERE - Adventure Base Camp, 223 Scituate Ave, Cranston RI 02921 

Follow signs to the Adventure Base Camp office for check-in.

Park in the main parking lot. 

WHY - Open Adventure can be a fun team bonding experience for families or units.

 Units can work towards specific advancements and awards while at Adventure Base Camp. 

All activities are run by trained and certified staff. We are taking extra precautions and following specific protocol to ensure everyone has fun while remaining safe and healthy.  

WHEN - Saturdays through June 

April 27th

National GO Birding Day. Join us for our day of Birds! Stop by Outdoor Skills to learn about tracking and identifying. Keep the fun going at home by building a bird feeder, and finding out how hard It is to fly! The archery and BB range will be open, and a Bird study merit badge will be offered. The program is from 10 am- 4 pm Saturday, April 27th

May the fourth be with you,

Check out our Space training day and join us for Lightsaber training and space first aid.  See if you can destroy the asteroid at the ranges, take a walk through the planets, and enjoy some space food. The Space Exploration Merit Badge will be offered. The program is 10 am-4 pm see you there!

May 11th

It's National Engineering Day!

Release your inner Engineer! Find all the simple machines we have around ABC- Check out how we use them at the Archery Range, build your roller coaster, and make a fun treat in a solar oven. The program is from 10 am-4 pm.

June 1st

Let’s play! Celebrate National Game Day with us, take your shot at Top Shot at BB and Archery. Make your own board game, Stop by outdoor cooking to see what you can make with mystery ingredients and More. Can’t wait to see you there. 10 am-4 pm

June 8th

Summer is here! Deep dive into the ocean with us. Stop by outdoor skill to learn about the knots used on boats and see how tasty all the layers of the ocean are. Float on down to arts and crafts for jellyfish hats, to nature for some investigation of aquatic life, and more. 10 am- 4 pm.
