Webelos Outdoor Adventure

Event Details

This camp is a fantastic introduction to the Scouts BSA Program while providing the additional adult supervision and structure still needed by the Cub Scouts.  Our Nationally Certified Staff will be on hand to ensure a safe, successful and fun filled camping experience.  All Webelos and parents will be housed in newly constructed Adirondack shelters. Den Leaders are welcome to attend but are not required.  Parents wishing to attend need to be registered with the BSA and provide proof of Youth Protection Training at check-in.  A Den or Pack sending four or more Scouts will be allowed to have one leader stay the week for free.  Half week sessions are available (Sunday through Wednesday Evening or Wednesday through Sunday).

Any Webelos attending the Sunday -Wednesday Half Week Option will have the opportunity to pay the difference and stay for the rest of the week!

Program for Webelos Scouts will include but is not limited to:  knot tying, BB range, archery, nature, pioneering, first aid, forestry, low-ropes, initiative games, handicap awareness trail, rowing, swimming, water sports, leatherwork, basketry, star gazing and hiking.  Ample free time is also given to just take it easy.

No camping experience is necessary.  Just come with your personal equipment and your camping spirit. Our trained staff will take care of the rest.

IMPORTANT: Registration procedure - Webelos Scouts must register separately in order to attend. We suggest that Scouts try to schedule to attend together with their Pack or Den. This will enable Scouts to attend with their friends and will contribute to a more positive camp experience.

Dining Facilities: Well balanced meals are served in the Medicine Bow Dining Hall.

Health & Safety: Safety is of the utmost importance at Yawgoog. Our health lodge is maintained by qualified personnel 24 hours a day. If necessary, Westerly Hospital is twenty-five minutes from Yawgoog where we maintain an agreement to treat our sick and injured.

Personal Hygiene:  Water, showers and private sanitary facilities are located close to the campsite.

Trading Post: Yawgoog Memorabilia, Uniforms and Uniform parts, Personal Hygiene supplies, Camping Equipment, Scouting Books, Cold Drinks, Snacks, T-shirts, and other Scouting equipment and souvenirs are available for purchase.

How to Sign Up for Webelos Scout Outdoor Adventure: All Scouts must register individually. This may be done conveniently and securely. A confirmation letter and information packet with additional information regarding your Scout's camping experience will be sent to each parent/guardian according to the address on the individual application.

Webelos Den Leaders that attend with at least 4 Scouts from their Pack get to attend for Free!
