National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) 2026 

Develop the Leader Within!

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, hands-on leadership experience designed to help Scouts build the skills, confidence, and character needed to lead effectively in their units, schools, communities, and everyday lives.

During this action-packed week, participants take part in a unique learning experience that simulates a month in the life of a troop, providing real-world opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, planning, and leadership.

Who - Participants must:

• Be a registered member of a Scouts BSA Troop, Venturing Crew, or Sea Scout Ship

• Scouts BSA: Be between 13 and 17 years old and hold the rank of First Class by the start of the course

• Venturers and Sea Scouts: Be between 14 and 20 years old

• Have the approval of their Unit Leader

When - Monday, August 17, 2026 – Saturday, August 22, 2026

Check-in begins at 8:00 AM on Monday at the Dining Hall, located at the far end of the parking lot on the left.

The course concludes on Saturday with a graduation ceremony. A specific commencement time will be announced prior to the course.

Where - Camp Norse, 112 Parting Ways Road, Plymouth, MA

Check-in and registration will be located at the Welcome Center.
