Join the Excitement at the Klondike Derby!

A Klondike derby is typically a weekend-long competitive event that uses Klondike Gold Rush themes to complete a sledge racecourse made up of multiple “Towns.”

WHO - Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scout Ships, AOL (Arrow of LIght), Explorer Posts.

WHAT - Join the Excitement at the Klondike Derby!  A Klondike derby is typically a weekend-long competitive event that uses Klondike Gold Rush themes to complete a sledge racecourse made up of multiple “Towns.”  Teams of 4-7 Scouts are pitted against other Scouts and the clock.  This is a great outdoor opportunity for all Scouts to showcase their teamwork, leadership, and Scouting skills! 

EARN FROST POINT AWARDS WHILE CAMPING THROUGH THE WEEKEND!

WHY - Scouts not only have the opportunity to compete with one another, but also test and improve their own leadership and team building skills. The Klondike derby is one of the most memorable weekend events your scouts will get to attend on a yearly basis.

JANUARY 31ST, 2026 - BUCK HILL 

CHECK-IN will be held at Hamilton Lodge from 7:30 am - 8:30 am. To get to the Hamilton Lodge, turn left into the camp entrance down Alcobb Drive and it will be on your left across from Pulver Lodge. PARKING is limited so we encourage all units to carpool. Our main parking lot is directly across from the camp entrance on Wakefield Road. If needed, spots will be made available on the exterior of Hamilton Lodge.

Schedule: Check in: 7:30-8:30      Opening Ceremony: 8:30-8:40   Stations Run: 8:45-2:30 (station sheets are due at Hamilton Lodge at 3) Lunch: Provided by units. Hot cocoa and ramen will be available (later in limited quantities) Awards tallying: 3-4:00 Closing Ceremony: 4:00-4:30 PM

All adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered as an adult volunteer or an adult program participant.  Adult volunteers must register in the position(s) they are serving in. Registration as a merit badge counselor position does not meet this requirement.
