Who: All ages and program levels are welcome!

What: The City of New Bedford Division of Recreation and the Narragansett Council partnered to create a fun-filled day of fishing, outdoor recreation, and family activities at historic Fort Taber! Whether you're casting a line for the very first time or you're an experienced angler, this free event welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels. To ensure everyone has a chance to fish, participants will register for a 30-minute fishing session. Sessions begin every 30 minutes between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with 15 participants per group. Fishing equipment and instruction will be available, making this a perfect opportunity for beginners to learn the basics while enjoying New Bedford's beautiful waterfront. When you're not fishing, stick around and enjoy a variety of exciting outdoor activities provided by Scouting America Narragansett Council, including an inflatable Gaga Ball arena, inflatable archery range, knot-tying demonstrations, and other hands-on scouting activities for the whole family. Come spend the day outdoors, learn a new skill, meet members of the local scouting community, and make lasting memories with family and friends. Fish. Play. Learn. Adventure awaits!

Parking is available along the entrance to Fort Taber Park and the nearby Fort Tabor Military Museum
