Be A Scout Experience (B.A.S.E.)

Who - Pack and Troop leaders leading recruitment for their unit - ideally the new member coordinator.
What - The Be A Scout Experience—or B.A.S.E.—is a hands-on training for unit leaders who will assist with Scouting Sign-Up Week and other recruitment events this fall. Leaders will learn the latest recruitment strategies, practice their approach through mock recruitment-event scenarios, and receive resources such as lawn signs and other materials to support their unit’s recruitment efforts. Kate Benson, National Director of Cub Scout Programs, will share her expertise and insights, while leaders from Pack 5 North Kingstown will share the strategies and practices that have contributed to their recruitment success. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tie-dye their own neckerchiefs to wear during fall recruitment!
Why - We believe every family deserves a welcoming and engaging first experience with Scouting. B.A.S.E. equips unit leaders with the confidence, skills, and resources to make meaningful connections with families and turn fall recruitment events into lasting Scouting experiences.
