E-11 Section Induction Experience

Event Details

You have been invited to be a member of the contingent from Octoraro Lodge 22 to travel to the E11 Section Induction Experience (SIE) hosted by Sasquesahanough Lodge 11 on October 2-4 at Camp Tuckahoe in Dillsburg, PA. This is the same location where Conclave was this past May. During the SIE, we will have our first opportunity to experience the new induction and complete phase one of the induction rollout process. While attending the SIE you will experience the new induction firsthand the way new candidates will enter the Order.

Registration and check will open at Tuckahoe at 6:30 PM and all participants should arrive by 7:30. No meal or Cracker Barrel is being held on Friday night so be sure to eat dinner before arrival. The SIE will finish on Sunday morning and all participants should be able to depart by 10 AM on Sunday.

Transportation may be provided, and for those in need, please select that participant category when registering. For those who need transportation we will meet by 5:15PM on Friday, October 2nd to carpool to Tuckahoe from PARC. We are expected to return to PARC around 11am on Sunday, October 4th.

The actual cost for the weekend is $40 per participant, however Octoraro Lodge covers $35 of the cost, so your cost will be $5 per person.

This experience is not a “training” weekend. You will undergo the same induction new candidates will be experiencing next year. This means you should pack the same way you would have candidates pack for our current ordeals. Friday night will still be a night sleeping out under the stars. You should pack two bags (one for Friday night) and the other for Saturday night. Candidates will be staying in cabins on Saturday night. When you arrive at camp, you should leave your Saturday bags and uniform in your car. You will need a tarp, sleeping bag, and personal items for sleeping under the stars for Friday night. You should also pack your sash for use on Friday night. Your Field uniform and other personal items can remain in a second bag in your car. You will have time on Saturday after service projects to get cleaned up and settled at your cabin. Sasquesahanough Lodge 11 will deliver the experience they had at the National Induction Experience as best they can. There will be sometimes throughout the day where their Head Luminary and Induction Coordinator will hold “reflections” where we spend a few minutes explaining the purpose behind each component of the new induction.

We will have a group meeting Saturday afternoon during the Fall Fellowship to review packing list etc.

Remember, participation requires an OPEN MIND!

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING A CURRENT MEDICAL FORM (PARTS A & B), YOU CAN NOT RELY ON MEDICALS THAT ARE TURNED IN ON OUR NORMAL SERVICE WEEKENDS!

IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SPECIFIC INVITATION TO ATTEND THE SIE FROM OUR LODGE'S NEW INDUCTION COMMITTEE, UNFORTUNATELY YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO LIMITATIONS ON AVAILABLE SPACE.
