2020 7B Fall Camporee

Event Details

Survive Monty Island on Oct. 3, 2020!

Scouts from Seven Bridges District will learn search and rescue techniques in a one-day "camporee" at the Milton State Park.

Scouts will take over the island from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, rain or shine. The activities are meant to help Scouts working on the Search and Rescue Merit Badge, although the badge will not be finished in one day. Participants should pack a lunch and water bottles and be prepared to search through underbrush and muddy sand.

Participants may register singly or with their Troops. Individually registered youth will need a responsible adult on site, either a parent/guardian, two adults from their Troops, or two adults from another Troop who have agreed to the responsibility for the day. Troops should provide two-deep leadership for their youth.

Known in earlier times as Montgomery Island, the island has been a farm, the Milton High School football field, the home of the Keystoners Drum and Bugle Corps, and now a State Park and boat launch.
