2027 Mountain Rescue Klondike Derby

A winter storm has stranded hikers in the mountains, and we need your help! Each patrol will become a mountain rescue team, taking on missions to rescue stranded hikers, clear trails, provide first aid, and safely evacuate victims.

Patrols will earn rescue points at each completed station. Awards will recognize the patrols that demonstrate the best combination of Scout skills, teamwork, leadership, and Scout spirit!

Location: Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Association, near Mifflinburg, PA

Patrol and Sled Information

Sleds may include Arrow of Light Scouts from associated Cub Scout packs. Each sled must have a minimum of 6 Scouts and a maximum of 10 Scouts.

Lone Scouts and Scouts whose troops are not entering a sled are welcome! Please register and contact one of the event organizers if you would like to be paired with a troop that has room on its sled.

Lunch Included

Each registration includes lunch consisting of:

• Two sandwiches: hamburger barbecue, hot dog, or grilled cheese
• Baked beans
• Chips
• A drink

Choose two of the same sandwich or mix and match!

Friday Night Camping and Activities

Free camping will be available on Friday, January 22, for those who wish to arrive early.

Join us Friday night for an indoor movie with free popcorn!

Optional Breakfast: Scouts may add a hearty breakfast sandwich and hot beverage to their online registration for an additional $4. Breakfast must be ordered during registration. No walk-up breakfasts will be available.

- Through December 26: $18 per Scout

- December 27–January 10: $23 per Scout

Arrow of Light Scouts

- $15 per Scout, including lunch

Adult Leaders

- Through December 28: $10 per adult

- December 29–January 10: $15 per adult

Event Staff

- $10 per staff member

- Includes breakfast, lunch, and the event patch

- No late fee applies to staff registration
