Maritime Merit Badge Academy

This event will allow scouts to work on merit badges related to the maritime theme.  We will be opening registration for French Creek Council Scouts on February 1st.  Out of council scouts will have a chance to register starting March 1st to fill any open spots.  There are very limited spots for this event.  

$10 fee includes 3 sessions for the day, lunch and event patch. There will be Merit Badge classes as well as a general Maritime Skills class available for Scouts to Chose from.  

$5 Adult option is offered for any adult wanting a lunch at the event.  

Pre- Requisites - **Please keep in mind there will be pre-requisites for most merit badges, and scouts who are not able to complete these before the calss will not receive a completed merit badge.  There also may be items required after the event and scouts will need to reach out to their counselor to prove completion of these items.** 

Safety - 2d,e and f and 9.

Signs, Signals, & Codes - You need to come with requirements 1, 2, 7, and 10.  They also need to come prepared with a 6-10 message that during the class they will be translating into different forms of communication.  For requirement 7 they will need pictures of the trail markers they made, in use.  For 10 they just need to do everything but the share part, we will trade with a fellow scout during the class and decode each other’s messages.

Motorboating - Proof of completed BSA Swin Test proof is a paper signed by approved lifeguard or completed swimming, kayaking, canoeing, small boat sailing, lifesaving, motorboating or watersports merit badges.
