WEBELOS & Arrow of Light Weekend 2024:

When: October 4-6

Where: Custaloga Town Scout Reservation

Cost:  $25 Adults, $35 Youth

 

Gear up for an epic adventure this fall at Cub vs. Wild, a thrilling camping weekend designed exclusively for Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts! This action-packed event will put your Scout skills to the ultimate test, blending teamwork, fun, and outdoor challenges into one unforgettable experience.

This weekend is designed for Webelos & Arrow of Light Scouts. Your Scouts will get their taste of what being a Scout BSA is all about. They get to camp in a tent that they pitched, cook their own meals, and enjoy all the adventures of being a Webelos / Arrow of Light Scout. The cost includes snack Friday night, a hearty lunch on Saturday, (Packs will cook their own breakfasts and dinner in their camp sites), evening snack on Saturday.

THINGS TO BRING: tents, sleeping bags, clothing for the weekend. You will also need to provide food items and a means for cooking Saturday morning's breakfast and Saturday night’s dinner in your campsite.

ADULT REQUIREMENTS: (1) Each Pack attending Webelos & Arrow of Light Weekend must have two adult leaders, at least one leader must be BALOO Trained. (2) All adults attending the weekend must be registered with the BSA, have submitted PA state-mandated clearances and have current Youth Protection Training.

Come prepared with a skit/song for the Saturday Campfire!

**UPDATE ABOUT ADULT LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS**

PER THE GUIDE TO SAFE SCOUTING AND THE BARRIERS TO ABUSE, THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET: 

  • THERE MUST BE 2 REGISTERED LEADERS IN ATTENDANCE WITH EACH UNIT.
  • CUB SCOUT PARENTS SPENDING THE NIGHT WITH THEIR CHILD DO NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED WITH THE BSA.
  • HOWEVER - PA CLEARANCES AND YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL ADULTS. 
  • UNREGISTERED ADULT HELPERS MAY ONLY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN CHILDREN PLUS ONE (1) ADDITIONAL CHILD.  SEE BELOW FOR CLARIFICATION.

From the Guide to Safe Scouting “In special circumstances, a Cub Scout whose parent or legal guardian is not able to attend an overnight camping trip may participate under the supervision of another registered adult member of the BSA who is a parent of a Cub Scout who is also attending. The unit leader and a parent or legal guardian must agree to the arrangement, and all Youth Protection policies apply. At no time may another adult accept responsibility for more than one additional “non-family member” youth.”
