Eagle and Special Programs Week
EAGLE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS WEEK JUNE 30-JULY 3, 2024 CTSR
We are excited to welcome units or youth as provisional campers to camp, for a special program week and focus on Eagle Scout Merit Badges. We will be offering the following merit badges during the week, scouts will be able to schedule up to 6 badges from the following:
Archery, Camping, Citizneship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Climbing, Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, Family Life, First Aid, Hiking, Lifesaving, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, Pioneering, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, & Swimming. There will also be special presentations by Council Advancement Committee about Eagle Scout projects, paperwork, and preparing for their Eagle Board of Review. This is the on-line registration system for Eagle Week and Rivers, Rails and Trails Adventure at Custaloga Town Scout Reservation. You can sign up for BSA Lifeguard Certification, and that will be your only course that week.
River, Trails and Rails 3-Day Expedition
We will also be offering a 3-day expedition: River, Trails, and Rails led by expert guides Woody and Becky Whitling. Scouts must have a bike and helmet, a pack, a BSA Swimmer Classification and either canoeing or kayaking merit badge to participate. Day 1 they will kayak down the Clarion River. Day 2 backpacking along the North Country Trail. Then Day 3 finish off with a bike ride on the Rail 66 Trail. This expedition is designed for older scouts.
Sea Scout Ships and Venture Crews
Lastly this week gives all units the flexibility to use camp and design theirown program. Perfect for Sea Scouts, Venturing Crews, and others that would like meals provided in the dining hall but have their own program ideas. Registration is now open for units or individuals to request/reserve a spot and make a $50 deposit. An estimate of Youth and Adults is needed with this registration to secure a campsite.
Payments may be made by credit card, mailing in a check, deducting from your unit account at the McGarvey Scout Service Center.
Please have one person responsible for handling all registration. That person will be the one contacted concerning questions about the registration and/or payments.
