The Crew Challenges for the 2022 Klondike

“Outfitting the Crew” Sled Inspection
 The group will have to successfully show all of the items needed for the various crew challenges. See the attached paper that tells what is required for each sled.

Accessing Your Claim” Gulch Crossing/Tomahawk Throw/Stone Toss
 The group will have to complete three challenges in this station. They will have a limited amount of time to get their entire group and their sled across the gulch and a limited amount of time to push back a certain amount of the enemy using various known weapons (tomahawks and stones). Protect your claim from claim jumpers.

Collapse at the Mine Rescue” Knots and Lashings
 The group will have to have each group member successfully tie various knots and lashings to build a travois that will be used to save injured miners.

Thaw out Your Boots” Fire Building
 The group will have to successfully build and sustain a fire long enough to thaw out your boots. They will also be judged on how well they keep the land good for other groups (how well they keep the grounds, and extinguish the fire). At this station you can use flint and steel or magnesium for extra points in starting a fire. You may also bring your own tinder but it must be natural materials (no grasses). Any other wood used must be found in camp!

“Respond for Accidents and Prepare for Elements” First Aid and Shelter Building
 The group will have to apply first aid for at least three wounded staff group members and then prepare a shelter for the wounded staff group members and their entire group.

Who’s In Charge – How Effective is Your Crew” Team Building
 The group will have to successfully complete various team building activities that will allow them to brave the passages in the mines.

“Race to Stake Your Claim on Eagle Mountain” Hill Climb/Measure Distance/Orienteering
 The group will have to complete three challenges in this station. They will have a limited amount of time to get their entire group and their sled up Eagle Mountain (hill climb) and stake their claim, a limited amount of time to locate the claim jumpers (orienteering skills), and a limited amount of time to measure the distance away where the claim jumpers are located (distance measuring skills).

“Getting Your Gold Back to Market” Sled Obstacle Race
 The group will have to race their entire group against other groups through an obstacle race. Along the way the group may be asked for additional challenges.
