NRA Basic Instructor Training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to conduct NRA Basic Firearm courses and become certified instructors.

NRA Basic Instructor Training is a mandatory pre-requisite for all NRA instructor-level courses. It is designed for individuals who already have basic firearm safety and shooting skills and want to teach NRA courses effectively. The course focuses on policies, procedures, and teaching methods necessary to conduct NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses, ensuring students earn recognized NRA certification.

You must complete this 6-hour classroom course, which covers the fundamentals of teaching, within the two years prior to individual discipline instructor training.

As with all Scouting events, participants must have a completed Annual Health & Medical Record. Only parts A and B are required for events under 72 hours. Click HERE to download a copy.
