NOAC 2024

Event Details

NOAC Logo in Red and Black with Styalized Lodge Flaps

The 2024 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) will be held July 29-August 3, at the University of Colorado Boulder.

What is NOAC?

NOAC is a gathering of Order of the Arrow members from every Order of the Arrow lodge across the country and around the world.  NOAC is a huge OA party, a chance for lodges to compete against one another, a chance for lodges to show off what makes them special, and a chance for youth and adult Arrowmen to participate in world-class training that they can bring back to help grow and strengthen their lodges, chapters, units, and communities.

How can I attend NOAC?

Attendance at NOAC is limited.  The National Order of the Arrow has not given lodge delegate limits for 2024, however, at least 50% of the lodge contingent must be youth members.

Allohak Menewi's goal is to take a group of 16. Registrants beyond 16 will be placed on a waitlist.

Youth

Youth may register first come, first served using this registration. A $150 deposit will be due at the time of registration.

Adults

Adults may register using this registration. A $150 deposit will be due at the time of registration.

Should it become necessary to limit what adults will be attending to ensure at least 50% of the contingent is youth, adults will be selected to actually attend based on the criteria listed below which was approved by the Lodge Executive Committee before NOAC 2018. If selected, an adult will be notified. Those not selected will be refunded any fees paid.

  • Adult Selection Round 1: Adults who serve in a current adviser position with the lodge. Examples include Chapter advisers, committee advisers, etc.
  • Adult Selection Round 2: After round one, all remaining adults are put into a lottery. Lottery selection will be based on an Excel random number generator.

How much does NOAC cost?

Current estimates put the cost of attending NOAC at $1800 per person.  This may change based on travel costs. Lodge fundraising efforts may help offset a portion of this cost.

  • Non-Refundable Deposit - $150.00 due at registration.
  • First Payment - $550.00 due by January 15
  • Second Payment - $550.00 due by March 15
  • Final Payment - $550.00 due by May 15

This price includes all NOAC fees ($675 for the conference, housing, and meals) and contingent costs including transportation to and from NOAC and lodge memorabilia (patches, t-shirts, and more!)

Special - Individuals who pay at least $700 by January 15, 2024, will qualify for a $50 NOAC Conference Fee Discount! Note: Discounted fee registrations are non-refundable unless the event is canceled.

Trailblazer Scholarship Fund

NOAC aims to ensure that every eligible youth delegate or youth staff member who is interested in attending the conference can do so, regardless of financial background. While youth delegates and youth staff are encouraged to fundraise as much as they reasonably can, some youth delegates and youth staff will need additional financial support to cover conference costs. Lodges are expected to be the primary provider of scholarships to delegates who need them. To supplement lodges scholarships, NOAC has established the Trailblazer Scholarship Fund to support Scouts with financial needs.

A Trailblazer Scholarship can potentially cover any requested amount up to the full standard conference fee of $675.00. To maximize the number of Scouts who can attend NOAC, full scholarships will only be given in the most extraordinary cases. Most scholarship awards will total 50% or less of the standard conference fee.

Applications for the Trailblazer Scholarship Fund will be made available on noac.oa-bsa.org in fall 2023 and the last day to submit a scholarship application will be January 31, 2024. Eligibility requirements for the Trailblazer Scholarship Fund include:

  • Be registered for NOAC within NOAERS as a youth delegate with a contingent or as a youth staff member by January 31, 2024.
  • Submit a Trailblazer Scholarship application, complete with the signature of your contingent leader by January 31, 2024.
  • Be under the age of 21 through the last day of the conference, August 3, 2024.

Applicants and contingent leadership will be notified of scholarship status and potential awards by March 15, 2024.

Travel to and from NOAC

The lodge will coordinate transportation for contingent members to and from NOAC. The lodge is investigating travel options by air or by rail to Denver.  Shuttles will be provided from Denver to Boulder and back.

Travel specifics will be shared with contingent members once finalized.

Where do we stay?

NOAC participants will stay in dorms on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. Attendees will be able to request roommate assignments beginning in Spring 2024.

Will I need a BSA Medical Form?

Yes, all attendees will need a current BSA Health & Medical Record parts A, B, and C which have been completed after August 1, 2023. Medical forms must be uploaded to the NOAC portal beginning in Spring 2024 (specific date TBA).

Youth Protection Training

All attendees aged 18 and must have current Youth Protection Training with a completion date of August 3, 2023, or later.

Patches, T-Shirts, and Other Stuff

Participants will automatically receive one free t-shirt and an amount of trader and delegate patches (to be determined) with their registration. Additional patches and extra t-shirts will be able to be purchased. Other contingent items may be added.

Refunds

Once payments are made for NOAC 2024 attendance to the National Order of the Arrow, refunds will not be available unless someone is found to take the space of the attendee canceling.

Cancellations and refunds must be requested in writing at least 14 days before the event.  Cancellations and refunds requested within 14 days of the event will be issued at the discretion of the event adviser.  Requests after the event or for no-shows will not be considered.

Cancellations and refunds will be issued via check, less a 10% processing fee.  Credit toward future events will not be given.
