Lackawanna Spring Camporee

Event Details

This year's Spring Camporee is flying to new heights with an Aviation themed weekend. The weekend will take place at the Butler Regional Airport  and will satisfy nearly all the aviation merit badge requirements! All details are listed below.

Butler Regional Airport is at 473 Airport Road, Butler PA, located just off route 8 five miles south of Butler. Roughly twenty-eight miles north of Pittsburgh and a fifty minute drive.

Troops will camp in a designated field a safe distance across from the facilities. Each troop will have their own area to set up camp. Each troop will be responsible for their own supplies, shelter, tables, and water.

Troop 115 is finalizing all the details. But here are some possible activities. On April 18th Scouts will gather in groups of roughly a dozen and move through five different interactive and educational stations. These stations include; a high flight academy lesson which includes time in a flight simulator, AirQuest Aviation tour of different aircrafts lead by the chief flight instructor, Allegheny Health Network life flight which will give scouts a tour of a life flight helicopter while speaking with the pilot and flight nurse, Flying Clubs demonstrating community based aviation roles, and an Orienteering Course to build scouts skills.
