Chestnut Ridge Fall Camporee 2021
Chestnut Ridge Fall Camporee
Emergency Preparedness
October 8-10, 2021
Camp Seph Mack
Thank you for your interest in attending our Emergency Preparedness Fall Camporee! Events like these do not occur without the help of the many volunteers that donate their time and effort into producing such an activity for our youth. ANY help that you may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated.
Pre-requisites
In order for Scouts to earn the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge over the course of the weekend, a few pre-requisites must be completed before coming to camp:
Requirement #1 – Earn the First Aid Merit Badge. Scoutmasters must provide the date that this merit badge has been earned for ALL Scouts intending to complete the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge. A form has been included at the end of this guide for Scoutmasters to fill out and provide during check-in.
Requirement #8b/8c – Prepare a personal emergency service pack for mobilization, and prepare a family emergency kit. We are asking each troop/unit to create these kits in advance and bring them to the camporee. The kits will be reviewed and discussed during one of the station rotations on Saturday.
Check In
Units should check in at the Dining Hall between 5 and 8 pm Friday night. If there are any changes to the scouts that will be participating, please inform us at that time (or earlier). Blue cards should be turned in at this time. Each unit will be issued a parking pass, allowing one vehicle to remain at the campsite. At NO time should vehicles be parked inside the campsite.
Staff & Senior Patrol Leader’s Meeting
Camporee Staff will meet at the Dining Hall at 8 pm. We will review schedules and area assignments for Saturday. Scoutmasters and Senior Patrol Leaders will meet at the Dining Hall at 9 pm. Rotation schedules and additional information will be provided at this time.
Event Stations
Morning station rotations will begin at 9 am. Each station will last 80 minutes, allowing 10 minutes for groups to travel to their next location. Afternoon station rotations will begin at 1:30pm.
Evening Activity
This is a required event in order to complete the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge. Units should plan to meet in the Dining Hall at 7pm, dressed for the weather and prepared for “any emergency.” All units are asked to participate.
Please see Leaders Guide for complete event information.
