Join us at the Somerset Historical Center on Saturday, February 1, 2025 for the Klondike Derby.

This event will feature both at Scouts BSA and Cub Scout Trail.  

Scouts BSA Trail

Registraion: 8:00-8:30 AM

Opening Flags: 8:30 AM

Scouts will first be given a latitude and longitude to find a geocache that holds a key to a locked box. 

The box will hold their schedule for stations and some items needed for the day.

They will need a hand held G.P.S. or phone with the app.

Compass course (compass provided in box)

Fire building flint and steel (provided in box)

First aid

Shelter building

Tomahawk throwing

Barrel challenge

Sled race with obstacles and challenges

Cub Scout Trail

Registration 10:00 AM-10:30 AM

Opening 10:30 AM

Stations: Fire Building, FIrst Aid, Log Sawing & Branding; Pipe challenge (similar to Barrel Challenge); Shelter Building.

This event will be held outside.  All youth and leaders are encouraged to be dressed for the weather.  Dress in layers.  Please wear boots!  Sneakers are not sufficient.  We will have warming stations and hot cocoa.
