Potomac Merit Badge Days - Personal Fitness

Event Details

At least 12-weeks prior to Class Complete the following sections of the Personal Fitness Merit Bade Pamphlet:

1a.         Get a physical exam from your Doctor. Have the BSA Health forms A&B completed (if not done within the last year) and be prepared to discuss items 1 through 5.

1b           Visit your Dentist and complete 1b.

2.            Read the pamphlet and be prepared to discuss.

3.            Read the pamphlet and be prepared to discuss.  Note: In a group setting these topics will be discussed “in general” so as to not embarrass or invade privacy.

4.            Read the pamphlet and be prepared to discuss.

5.            Read the pamphlet and be prepared to discuss.

6.            Complete the Aerobic Fitness, Muscular Strength, Flexibility, and Body Composition tests as described in the Merit Badge Pamphlet. Do this at least twelve weeks before the scheduled class. If your Doctor measured your body composition at your visit you can use that.

7.            Design/Outline you own 12-week physical fitness program per the Merit Badge Pamphlet. Have your parent or guardian approve your plan and then email it to the Merit Badge Counselor at the address below. Make sure you copy a parent or Scoutmaster when you email the Merit Badge Counselor. This must be completed and sent at least 12 weeks prior to the in person class!                                                               

8.            Complete your 12-week physical fitness plan. Record your activity and progress per the Merit Badge Pamphlet. Be prepared to discuss

9.            Complete this requirement and be prepared to discuss.
