Jamboree on the Air / Jamboree on the Internet (JOTA-JOTI)

Jamboree on the Air - Jamboree on the Internet
Saturday, October 17, 2026
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Flag Plaza
Every year, Scouts around the world gather for a weekend Jamboree to connect with the world Scouting movement. Instead of gathering physically, this Jamboree takes place over amateur radio with Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and on the internet with Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI). JOTA-JOTI is an annual opportunity to meet Scouts from around the world, make cultural connections, and learn more about international Scouting and how it can be a part of your Scouting unit’s program.
This year, Laurel Highlands Council is bringing back an in-person council event for JOTA-JOTI that will be held at Flag Plaza on October 17. This event is designed to be accessible to everyone: Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, and Scouters of all ages. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Communicate by amateur radio. We’ll have radios and operators available to help connect you to others over the radio. Hopefully we’ll be able to make some international connections! There’s also an opportunity to learn about Radio Merit Badge and connect with a counselor.
- Participate in JOTI events throughout the day. These events range from talent shows to playing Minecraft with Scouts across the world.
- Zoom with Scouts in other countries.

What is JOTA-JOTI?
Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) - Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) is an annual Scouting event sponsored by World Scouting and is held the 3rd weekend of October. Typically, JOTA-JOTI attracts close to 2 million Scouts and leaders from over 160 countries! Participation in JOTA-JOTI is a requirement of the International Spirit Award.
Jamboree On The Internet (JOTI)
JOTI utilizes the internet to link Scouts from around the world. Through the World Scouting jotajoti.info platform, registered Scouts "meet" other Scouts from around the world in a “travel-free jamboree!” JOTI participation can be used to help fulfill some of the Citizenship in the World or Digital Technology merit badge requirements!
Jamboree On The Air (JOTA)
JOTA uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in your community.
