Camping and outdoor activities fulfill a Cub Scout’s dreams of fun, excitement and adventure. They provide a natural setting for quality time with family and friends. Our modern council camp, with qualified leadership, provides an ideal setting for these activities.

Children and families who participate in the Cub Scout Expo at Camp Mountain Run have the opportunity to sample the many different aspects of Cub Scout camping. New Cub Scouts have the opportunity to sample our shooting ranges with bb guns, bows and arrows, or sling shots; aquatics facility with fishing; nature facilities by hiking trails with knowledgeable guides, and much more. Lunch is provided.

There is no cost to new Cub Scouts or their parents. Just bring your completed Cub Scout application or fill one out at the event. Current Cub Scouts and parents/guests are also welcome to participate at a minimal cost of $8 per person.

This is a great opportunity for your Cub Scout Pack to introduce new Cub Scouts and their parents to the wonderful world of Cub Scouting! Cub Scouting is about action and outdoors. What a better place to introduce them to this than at Camp Mountain Run! Some of the activities planned are BB shooting, Fishing, etc. 

We are happy to provide this event for the Packs of our Council. Packs attending the Cub Scout Expo have shown higher retention rates for their Cub Scouts than Packs that do not attend.

Those Packs wishing to have their kids spend the night, must make separate arrangements for renting a cabin or campsite via the online reservation system located at www.bucktail.org or through the Council Service Center (814-371-5650). Should your Pack choose not to spend the night, you can still attend on Saturday.
