Scouting’s Fundamentals of Training 2 is designed for experienced Scouters who have already taken the online Fundamentals of Training course and are ready to deepen their skills in delivering effective, engaging instruction. This course prepares leaders to train others within their unit, district, or council by focusing on advanced presentation techniques, learner engagement, and practical facilitation strategies. Participants should attend if they want to confidently step into training roles, strengthen the quality of Scouting instruction, and help build a stronger, better-prepared volunteer community.

Prerequisite and Presentation
Complete the online Fundamentals 1: Science of Training online (if you have not already done so) via the my.scouting online training tool.  Please complete this prior to our training event. To do this from the my.scouting Scouting U page, first make sure to select "View All" (the tab-ish thing to select immediately below the search entry field) and then search for Science of Training.  You should find an 87 minute course, where you can "Enroll" and take a series of eight modules to complete it. To be clear: this is required for you to successfully complete and receive credit for the in-person training course on December 5th.

An important part of this training is practical experience.  You will be giving a presentation as part of this training!  Please DO prepare a 10-12 minute presentation on a topic of your choosing from the Scouts BSA Handbook or another program element like Cub Scouting, Venturing, or Sea Scouting. A broad topic choice, such as uniform, advancement, high adventure, hiking, or camping, could be selected. You may use any media, equipment, or training aids that you wish; please just the training team know ahead of time if you will require a projector & screen for your presentation. You will be given time to present your content to a small group of fellow class members during the fourth module (final part) of this training.
