Provisional Scouts - Rover Camp

For Scouts unable to join their troop for summer camp or those who desire an extra week of adventure, there's an exciting opportunity: Rover Camp. Individual Scouts can sign up for a dedicated Rover Camp week, where they'll connect with fellow provisional Scouts upon arrival and form a cohesive Rover Troop. Adult leadership is provided by the camp. Operating akin to a regular Scout Troop, Rover Troops engage in the full spectrum of summer camp activities, ensuring every Rover Scout experiences the same thrill and camaraderie as they would with their home troop.

Oceanfront Discovery

With full beach access, Scouts dive into oceanography by exploring tide pools and rock formations. Our popular Polar Bear Swim and ocean-surf wading are highlights of Camp Meriwether. Plus, camp would not be complete without a bonfire on the beach.

Go Back in Time at Lewis & Clark’s Fort Clatsop!

With a full-scale replica of Fort Clatsop, Lewis & Clark’s winter camp in 1805, Scouts can immerse themselves in the skills the real Corps of Discovery relied on during their journey west, including blacksmithing, candle-making, and black powder rifle marksmanship. Staff even dress in period-accurate clothing and give tours as members of the expedition to add to the experience.

Land Sailing

Take the ultimate ride on the beach with our new land sails! Learn to skid across the sand and zip down the beach in this incredibly fun, safe activity you’ll only find at Camp Meriwether. 

World-Class Shooting

An Olympic-level shotgun range, the chance to fire a black powder rifle, and new rifle and archery ranges that each accommodate 16+ Scouts at once make Camp Meriwether the safest way to have a blast in the BSA.
