This hands-on course, conducted in a patrol setting, equips adult leaders with the practical outdoor skills necessary to guide Scouts in outdoor activities. Upon completion, participants will gain confidence in teaching Scouts the foundational skills required for achieving the First Class rank.

In combination with Scoutmaster Specifics and Hazardous Weather Training, IOLS is a mandatory requirement for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to register as trained leaders in Scouts BSA Troops.
