Climbing, a key component of the Boy Scouts of America's outdoor adventure program, provides scouts with opportunities to develop essential climbing and rappelling skills.

Focused on safety, teamwork, and personal growth, BSA Climbing activities empower scouts to conquer new heights, fostering a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie in the great outdoors.

About

Participants will enjoy two weekends of classroom and hands-on training, including instruction in climbing technique, safety considerations, gear selection & care, group instruction & route selection, and set-up. This class is intended to train experienced climbers up to the BSA Level II Climbing Instructor level. It is a two-weekend course and students can earn the Level I or Level II card, depending on the proficiency that they exhibit during the course.

Notes

• Attendance at both weekends is required.
• Must be currently registered in the BSA.
• Must have prior climbing experience, this is not a beginner level course.

Location

• First Weekend - Ground School at Camp Meriwether
• Second Weekend - Practical at Camp Baldwin & Horse Thief Butte, WA.

The mission of the CPC climbing committee is to foster individual growth through challenge by enabling indoor and outdoor climbing activities within the Cascade Pacific Council, according to the guidelines set out by BSA National committees and the guide to safe scouting.
