This course is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry out a successful camping experience.

Scouting America requires at least one BALOO-trained adult leader be present for any Cub Scout overnight camping.

BALOO training consists of a short online prerequisite component and a hands-on practical course which includes camping overnight. Both portions of the training must be completed to earn certification.
